The objective of the project was to increase the level of information and awareness regarding solar air-conditioning technology and to contribute to the targeted development of the solar cooling market. This was to be achieved through a sectoral and geographical approach by promoting specific socio-economic, market-related, regulatory, political, and institutional changes. SoCoSet also worked on developing an information campaign on solar air conditioning and the benefits of its application.
As part of the programme, local workshops were held to advance market development and to provide each partner country with detailed guidelines on how to establish and strengthen the solar cooling market. Further information was provided on removing barriers, involving local stakeholders, and increasing investment and demand.
In addition, “regional SoCoSet maps” formed part of the regional action plans. These maps were based on data from the feasibility studies and illustrated the potential of different regions and countries in terms of climate and market conditions.
